If you look at my current signature, you'll see my current rig. I've read you can save money on your electricity, by upgrading to Intel, as well as a well rated PSU.

How much do you think I could save if I upgraded to the following:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £167.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77-G1-Sniper M3 Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £139.99
1 x Seasonic X-Series 650w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £114.98
Total : £434.96 (includes shipping : £10.00).

If you bought the above I imaging it would take years to save anything once you take parts cost in to consideration...

3Howers of intensive gaming on that setup the rest of the day shut down
Compared to a phenom 2 at 125W
Total power draw 300W from wall with a HD7870
48W cpu+10% from PSu efficiency
48W+30W=78W multiply by 3howers=238W
you save 238W per day multiply with 360
84KW multiply with 0.15pounds/KW you save 12.6pounds per year
You game 6howers you save 25.2pounds/year
there is little difference from low end PSU to a low end gold PSU for the extra 20pounds get gold and your system will live longer with the cleaner current
So gold PSu will get you the money difference back in 2 years by that time a cheap PSu will need replacing
So it is real get gold and u get your money back in 1 year if u are a gamer
Not worth getting another platform for 48W saving u will never recover the money 7pounds/year from casual gaming
