How much would you pay for this pc?

Hi,
I'm gonna start selling computers, and I was wondering how much people would pay for this pc:

Can play pretty much all games at highest settings

Coolermaster Gladiator 600
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 3.5Ghz 6mb L3 cache
4Gb DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
500Gb 7200 RPM HDD
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB
DVD/CD Writer

pricing advice and requests are only allowed in the marketplace,
you need at least 250 posts and to be here 6 months to access it ;)
 
The time is actually only 90 days, but unfortunately you are still pretty far off.

One thing I would suggest is to split up the computer and sell it as individual parts - you will make much more money as people don't usually want an entire 2nd hand PC, but they will happily buy a second-hand Graphics card, RAM, CPU etc.

Isnt it 250 posts and registered for 90 days?

Edit: beaten to it. I would have gotten away with it aswell if it wasnt for them pesky kids.....
 
I guess most on here would only pay the cost of the components and build it themselves.
Why not have a look at some of the other builders on the web and see what sort of pricing they have?
Obviously if you are not an established name then the pricing should be lower. Need to take into account man hours for building etc if you want to make a profit.
What about OS? Will you supply and/or install it for the customer?
Also consider what sort of support you will give and handling of hardware faults.

Ah, in that case on this forum we will only pay what the parts are worth as be build them ourselves :)

However, if you look at retailers selling computers of similar spec you will get an idea of what to charge, just make sure you factor in the costs of support.
 
I'm gonna try and sell on eBay to people who don't know much about buildin pcs so I can make about 50 - 100 profit. All hardware comes with a year warranty. It will come with windows 7 home premium 32 bit everything set up (drivers ect...)
 
Would suggest 64bit for Windows, especially if already with 4Gb RAM. Will they be OEM licences as the support then is from the builder. Also, the components have the warranty but how would you handle exchanges and replacements? Most average consumers will expect you as the supplier to sort the issue rather than ringing mamufacturers.
 
A waste of time and effort unless you can sell high-end specialised machines into a niche market that you have experience of (this doesn't include gaming PCs).

Ten years ago building PCs on a very small scale was a viable option. Today it's almost a complete waste of time.
