how nice is the i7

id also be very interested in an answer to this.

i currently multibox 4 copies of warcraft on one pc. (q8200/4gb ram/gtx275) and am looking at either an i5 or an i7, the price of the i5 is very attractive! but would the i7 be more suited?

Wow is quite CPU intensive, but it only makes good use of 2 cores per game, going from a dual to a quad definalty makes a good difference, and considering that really its 1 busy thread and 1 quiet one, I would be willing to bet that 4 copies would run very smoothly on an I7 on a 1336 platform (to get the extra memory bandwidth)

Of course the GPU(s) will have quite a bit of work to do with so many copys running. You'll need a good amount of ram too, I find that with 2-3 copies of WOW running on my Q6700 with 6GB of ram, that most of the ram is gone once the 3rd copy is running.

decided on a i5-750 after all price per performance is just too great and the differences in real world everyday computing from what i have read the i5 is far more suited to my needs,
i`m hoping on a noticable performance increase over my current q8200.

Nope. More like unlocked multiplier like this.
