nice panel but not a very clever job mounting it. also a lick of paint on the wall wouldn't go amiss!

Maybe its the best the guy/girl could do? Does that make it alright to mock their efforts? They could have given it their best shot and thats all that they could do. You do realise that some people are just not very good at DIY at all yes?

Do you think its fair to also mock them without being here to explain or stand up for themselves? Maybe it was just botched up there on the wall because they got excited about using it? It could now be sat surrounded by a solid gold frame with wires made from purest silver hidden behind gossamer threads of silk. Who knows???
How about we post a picture up of some random part of your life and take the pee out of it for you on another forum? That'd be nice wouldn't it?

I have the same wall mount, and to be fair, its not exactly easy slicing off the bits you can see if you dont have access to some half reasonable tools. Still, if it was me I would have at least left the speakers on to hide the vertical brackets.

maybe the persons dad is dead, like mine....

I think his point was more this is a forum for helping people with AV stuff, not taking the **** out of there efforts ;)

yup, apparantly it is quite a heavy duty wall mount suitable for up to 50" plasma.

beefy enough to be trimmed imo.

I think they should have used a bracket more suited to the application.

I.e. One which you were unable to see from the front.

I think it looks a mess and definately wouldnt want it on my wall.

Considering my business wall mount TV's I would think that though. However, sometimes I am just asked to hang the TV on the wall.

The best time to wall mount is when decorating I seem to find. The wall can be chased and the cables hidden, it then looks really smart.

Probably used that bracket due to the price of £10 for it, rather than how suitable it is. Not ideal for the job, but can be made to look neat enough.

If anyone had read the text that went with the original image they would have found that he did it deliberately so that he could slide the thing over towards his desk when he uses it as a monitor, it still is not a neat solution though

Bit of flexible cable tube trunking and it'll look a lot better. Also if he paints the bits of the bracket that's showing with similar colour to the wall it'll disappear

The fact they put a picture of it on the internet probably means they don't care about how it looks. It's probably just a bedroom set-up.

The op really disappointed me. How "to mount an lcd panel" would be a picture of the panel in 50 pieces on the floor. So what if it doesn't look neat? Turn out the lights and watch it.

Has it ever occured to anyone that the person who has the setup has not actually finished it off yet...?

Take my so call home cinema set up. I have the best sound and picture quality I can get but the room is no where finished as me and my missus are saving a few quid do redo the room...

I dont think anyone should be slating peoples rooms/setups etc. You could always give advice instead of taking the rip out of them. Heres mine for example.

Yes there are wires all over the place. For the time being they are not a problem. All will be sorted out later this year.

As for the person whos room set up everyone is taking the rip out of. Leave him/her alone. It may well be the best that can be done on a budget..

Is that a centre speaker in the rear of a 5.1 setup, or is it some kind of crazy sub?

Why do the rear L/R speakers face forward (they look to be smack inline with the seating position)?
