How OCD are you over the condition of "your stuff"

As per title! I for one am terrible and nearly always buy new. Even with things like DVDs or games where the cover for example has no bearing over the enjoyment of the show it still bothers me if the packaging is scuffed. My girlfriends the exact opposite and I wish I was more laid back like her. Anyone else bordering on OCD with their purchased items!? It strange as with me it only affects certain things, usually involving technology/media.

I got a box set once and the front cover was covered in air bubbles and so didn't match the other seasons of the show and I was and am still considering buying a replacement copy to match the other seasons.... It seems the alternate soloution is to have children! Lol.

Liking stuff tidy, or always buying stuff new and keeping it in good condition is not "OCD".

An example of OCD: A man turns his light switch on and off 19 times before he goes to bed, because he thinks that if he doesn't he will die in his sleep.

OCD covers a massive spectrum. It depends how much it effects the quality of life for the individual. I have OCD and this is a relatively small facet of it, but still interesting non the less.

Well yes people can use that term too easily same with depression but people who don't have it will never truly understand and hey good on them :).

Exactly I have fairly bad OCD (though I am the road to revovery after a number of years) but in this area it's only average to mild. It's interesting to see the different view points when it comes to how far people worry (or don't) about keeping their belongings pristine. :)

Not wanting your stuff to be trashed and scabby isn't OCD.

No but it can be taken to extreme levels where the littlest thing can cause great upset to someone with OCD where they will worry / obsess about it for weeks/months afterwards, seek outside opinions and generally just cause themselves a world of stress when in reality nothing is really wrong with an item in the first place.
