i just stripped my loop ,due to other threads on the same subject, and to replace my cloudy hose

at the same time i took apart my apogee and found this

cleaned what ever it was off with a toothbrush and some distilled viniger, flushed and put it back together.replaced onto my mobo with some new as5.
I also filled my rad with distilled viniger and left it to soak for 30 mins(i wouldnt leave it fo 24hrs as some do personaly)flushed through, and replaced in pc.I have allways changed my hose every time i do a cleanout due to it always been cloudy(distilled or de-ironsed= both do it)I only use water and no additives

Temps by speedfan before were idle=30
Temps by speedfan after were idle=28
hope this helps someone(or reminds :D ) c ya ;)

dont know about my blocks but i try and clean my pipes daily :p

/sorry i have nothing usefull to add

lol that was uncalled for.

but amusing.

anyway what is that gunk that's built up in the apogee...like what exactly is the stuff?

What tubing was used? I'm guessing plasticizer leech... results in a whitey grey slime as it's effectively oil in water, which gathers to itself and clumps.

hi thanks for the replys, it looks like artic silver, bit im certain it isnt(wrong side of block for starters :D )
normally i just change the tubing and water every three months but this time i decided to do the lot, thats when found this. the temps were very good still mind.it came off easily with a old toohbrush
pump(D5)on 2 so vquiet>>cpu(6600)>>8800GTX>>rad(MCR220-QP)
tubing is XSPC 1/2" ID Clear High Flex Hose

as for the cloudy tubing ,some people think it could be the container that distilled water comes in as its normally white plastic. (i only buy it in clear ones now anyway lol)
ps that was the first time i stripped down the block from new!
c ya ,thanks again,i just wanted to know if there was anyone else who cleaned there loop as often as me.

LOL, I'm the opposite...my loop has been running for 3 years now, mixed metals, never changed. I'm dreading/intrigued when I take it apart.

I'm posted overseas, which is why it never gets changed. When I come back (usually only 2 weeks at xmas) cleaning my loop is pretty low priority. My bro uses my PC so it is used regularly at least. What amazes me is the tubing is always clear during my annual visit. Using Hydrx at 1/2 the recommended dosage.

I'm sure there are going to be some real nasties in there.....

may i ask, from that picture i just saw of the 8800gtx and how the tube fits onto it..

how do you drain the liquid out? if you just pulled it off that would be bye bye g80 lol..

im no expert on w/c never had one befor but still.... O.o i thaught i knew the basics but the question of how would you get the liquid out has just made me feel like a noob :D

You pull out the tube at the lowest point of the loop, and mavity will do the rest. Usually this is the outlet of the rad (if you mount it barbs down) or the pump.
