How often do you replace your electric toothbrush?

The Mrs and I have been using one of the oral B electric recharging ones for about 3 years now. It used to charge for 18hrs and go for a week or two without any noticeable dip in charge.

Now a days after about 4 morning/nights worth of use for 2 people it is practically dead. It also takes a good 24+hrs of charging to stay powerful and strong. I'm not going to buy a new one until it dies; my solution is just to leave it charging as much of the time as possible now.

My toothbrush costs about £2 every 3-6 months or so and my dentist always says my teeth are as clean as peoples who use electric ones. I think it is a massive con tbh, there is no way it can be better than a manual one without it using a technology other than simple brushing.

I have an Oral B thisanthatcleanyourchompers5000gti which cost ~£20 from Tesco.

It's about 5 years old and I charge it overnight about once a week/fortnight :)

Had my cheapo Oral B one for about 3 years now (cost me £14.99 from Boots) and its still going strong. Can't say Ive noticed how often I charge it but I'd imagine I'm doing it more now than I used to.

I'll probably replace it when it needs to be charged more than once a week?

As for the heads, I replace those a little more often ;)

Pretty much the same, except the heads seem to last for ages, the bristles on mine still look really good after a long time.
