How often do you revisit games?

It is extremely rare that I replay a game I have completed; in the past 10 years the only ones I can think of are:

-Deus Ex (it is ****ing Deus Ex)
-Max Payne
-Red Alert 2 (different campaign)
-Far Cry (great game and reasonably open-ended in terms of how you approach some levels)
-Halflife 2 (cinematic mod)
-Need for Speed: Porsche 2000 (because it is probably the best in the series)

What is interesting is I don't think I completed ANY of the above a second time around with the exception of NFS5. As a rule I don't go back and play games again, even exceptional games like KOTOR, because I'd rather try something new. I have dozens of unplayed AAA titles so rather than replay KOTOR I'd rather play things I haven't got round to yet like Skyrim.

I do, however, revisit uncompleted games to pick up on old save games, often several years later (GTA3, GTA:SA, Halflife...)

im terrible with picking up old save games, i have FF1,2,3 on my phone and im around 8-10 hours into each of them, but when i open it again im just completely lost!

Im starting skyrim again from scratch as soon as my rig is built. hopefully it will feel as amazing, second time through

Generally I wont go back to single player games. If I do, it is sually after a lot of time has passed.

The only caveats to this is on games where I feel like I could have done better, or that I didnt fully explore my surroundings. Tomb Raider is one such game. I blasted through that and really enjoyed it, but I didn't spend enough time exploring. I still managed over 80% at the end of the game, though! :p

Also, games like Deus Ex HR where you can approach a mission from different angles depending on how you wish to play have some replay value to me.

I feel like I fancy some Quake 4 at the moment, and I have not played that in, hmmmmm, 6-7 years? I know I pretty much played on release, then played multiplayer for a time then dropped it. Might have to dust off the game disc and put it on. I wonder how it has aged? :p

I played some Quake 2 the other week after not playing it since the 90's. Oh my days it is bad. The polygon blockyness and simple map design and basic textures!! But in the Voodoo days it was ground breaking! Mind you, it was still fun trying to remember where the secrets are :p

old fps are good for a laugh, it reminds me of how lucky we are now haha!

i went back to heretic a few months back, and it must be as old as me that game by now, its still fun though!

Since half life 2, been replaying it and expansions after they came out about once every year + Cinematic mod and enjoy it more than brand new fps shooters.

Otherwise Counter Strikes when I am in the mood for a bit of silliness.

I (like everyone else probably) have serious game ADHD, therefore I start one, then get instantly bored and start another. Many of my Steam games have amounts like '7 minutes played' next to them :p

Oh and I can't stop buying games, so it becomes a never-ending problem

^This. I keep buying games yet I only play Skyrim,Fallout,SimCity and a select few others:p

Sim city, god i remember playing sim city 2000 for hours and hours on end but never getting anywhere. that and theme hospital were the bane of my life!

Replaying GTA San Andreas for probably the 5th or 6th time and its the only game I'm enjoying playing at the moment. I've got Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3, Bioshock 2, Batman Arkham City and Mass Effect 3 installed but no urge to complete them.

I normally replay crysis 1 every year as its such a good game, especially on modern hardware. Currently slowly working my way through bioshock infinite on the 1999 difficulty mode, which is seriously intense.

I've replayed oblivion every single christmas for as long as I can remember. Dunno what it is about winter, but it makes me need to play it lol

i've actually never played crisis 1, i bought it the other day ready to play on the rig when its done, but that looks like a couple of weeks away at least!

I replay way to many of the older ones trying to get as many of the achievements as possible and an ever expanding library means that I'll never go through the entire catalogue before I die.

It's funny, I still see Crysis as the first of the modern gaming era. Games have all gone down hill since then IMO. Most blockbuster titles are just rehashes of the same old. The last few years have been the age of CoD to me :D

I've recently finished a 4th play through of Stalker SOC, each time with a different mod. I chuffing love this game. Lost Alpha next probably in a years time. Apart from that not many story based games get a second play through with me. HL2, Mass Effect are only a couple I can remember.

im doing my 4th run of SupCom 2 campaign...(since release) no idea why...Maybe because
I love Commander Gauge!

I completed that one and don't have any wish to do it again. Personally I find Gauge rather annoying.

The FA Campaign however I can replay endlessly, just trying out different ideas in each of this missions.

I find my self replaying the DoW II and World in Conflict campaigns from time to time as well.

Always go back to old games.

Castle Wolfenstein
Skyrim
MOH AA
Tomb Raider Series
Singularity
Bioshock 1 + 2
Prey
Quake 4
FEAR
Tomb Raider Series
DMC 4
Dead Space Series

I still buy new games but when there is a dry spell then I love to go back.

I normally go through the whole Doom series once a year - Doom, Doom 2, Final Doom, Doom 3, Doom 3 Expansion.
