How often do you upgrade?

Every 3 years on average. Had a Q6600 quad core computer a few years ago when they first came out then upgraded to i5 2500k in January when they first came out. I usually buy every 2 generations. But I don't see myself upgrading for at least 3/4 years. This computer has more than enough grunt to meet my needs for a few years. Only thing I would ever upgrade is maybe a new graphics card and some more memory. Gaming is the only intensive thing I do on the computer, everything else like web browsing, watching films and things like that you can do on virtually any computer nowadays.

Usually every year as i like to sell my existing stuff while it's still worth something. Not this time though as my 760 and mobo will be going into my second pc. I may or may not upgrade when Ivybridge comes along.

Hmmmm my hard drives are to noisy :( And the stock an (although thats getting rectified pretty soon). Wonder if a EK 2.2 Res/Pump COMBO can work with a CPU + GFX :( Cables are still a mess :@

When I feel like it's necessary for me personally, and my money situation.

Graphics card was erm, 2006, 2008 - early 2010 - late 2011, usually a 2 year cycle.

CPU/Mobo/Ram is just when my set up feels out dated, usually skip a generation and grab the next. Storage is just when I need to upgrade really, and SSD was just impulse buy.

I've had my 1366 system over a year now and can run anything i throw at it. Had the GTX 580 for 7 months and obviously this will last a further two years at least. So have no plans for upgrading, we'll see what Ivybridge brings :)

I used to upgrade all the time, but you had too as everything was still so slow!
Now my upgrade route is spread over a 4 years cycle in which it all gets replaced.
