How often do you use the Awesome Bar in your browser?

I find myself using it quite a lot on both phone and computer. I have the default settings for history saving in Firefox on both and simply recalling threads here or sites I visited weeks ago is made so much easier just typing in some key words that I knew were in those titles!

I think it's one of those brilliant features that are little realised until you use it once then wonder how it could have been without it :)

Going back to Windows XP reminds me of how far search has come on in the last 10 years. Spotlight was one of the things that converted me to Macs a few years ago.

I rarely use it but a lot more than before, thanks to google search through the address bar. Before I used to never use it. I'd just have all my bookmarks and the actual google website.

I don't have anything to lose because I don't mind being wrong. But I specifically remember the feature being introduced as the 'awesome bar' when it first came out. Whether that's changed since I've no idea but I bet I'm not the only one who remembers.

Edit - I will say though that I'm referring to Firefox, as per the OP, and not the other browsers.

Just because Firefox gave it an alternative name doesn't make it so.
It is still the Address Bar with this feature built into it - http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/awesome-bar-find-your-bookmarks-history-and-tabs

They even call it the address bar but said they renamed it :D

Of course IE and Chrome don't call it the Awesome Bar. I think one of them calls the feature Omnibar.

Um, that makes 'Awesome Bar' a perfectly legitimate name for it.

Edit - Right this is just getting ridiculous, but re-reading the thread I can see where the confusion started. I can't speak for anyone else but I am NOT saying 'awesome bar' is the one and only name for it. It goes by address bar, url bar, location bar etc. I assumed everyone would know what was being referred to if you used any of those terms. That was *my* point.
