Hi folks, not sure if this is the right place to ask, if not please move to the appropriate section ta.

As per title, how old is too old for keeping Thermal paste? I last bought some Thermal Grizzly back in Feb 2020 and was wondering if it could still be used on a new build at the end of the month or should I buy fresh.

I'm not being a cheap arse honest but so far this build has already cost me 2 kidneys (one of the wife's), an arm from my eldest and a leg from the youngest, so trying to save an extra couple of quid seems like the 'thing to do'.

Provided the cap has been kept screwed on, I'd keep using it. I've got a tube from 2017 that's still going strong! Used it earlier this year when I upgraded CPU and mobo onto a new water block.

Thanks all, I used it last year to re-paste my CPU and it was fine. Cap firmly screwed on and kept in a box under the stairs, so I'll give it a go at the end of the month.

Cheers all,

Rob

Yeah should be fine, I've got some MX4 that I've had since around 2015 that I used as recently as last year (bought a new 20g tube a month or so ago because I'm running a little low, and it was £8 :P ... should last me the next 10-20 years)

I have a tube of Arctic Silver Céramique 2, it must be over 20 years old now. It's still soft, but I'm not sure I'd trust it :D
