Why? With Windows 98 and ME maybe but even XP was fine for a year at least and Vista/Win7 longer than that.

It was pre installed so that was when I turned the laptop on for the first time.

I have had windows 7 installed since it first came out, but after upgrading about a month ago I did a reinstall, so no more than a month on my current setup. No problems either here
