Just had a little run in with a Starlet Turbo, it really really surprised me in a straight line down a dual carriageway.Mind you i was in sixth and he did creep on me (well thats my excuse anyway :p )

So how quick are these babies, fella who was driving it, said he had just it tweaked to 170 bhp, which i cant believe for a little car, but i think he said it had two turbo's.Plus it was auto

Anyone care to shed any light on the matter?

iirc 1.3 turbo with 130ish bhp standard, 170bhp is no doupt at all atainable but i cant see them actually making an automatic transmition turbo starlet...becouse WHY? lol and i would put the next 5 months of my wage on it has not got 2 turbos:)

what do you drive?

The Glanza V hides under its hood a 1331cc DOHC, 4cyl, 4E-FTE engine, accompanied with CT9b turbo. This setup makes the 920Kg beauty output 133bhp, and accelerate from 0 to 100Km/h at the impressive time of 6.8 seconds. This pocket rocket is mechanically flawless like every Toyota.

sorry i am bored waiting for freinds to go out so had to have a little look... lol

It was deffo an auto and deffo a turbo as i saw the intercooler.

I have a Focus ST3.

Just been reading about the thing on wiki, and its not a twin turbo, more a two stage turbo (lo and hi setting).Id love to see what the power to weight ratio is and what the 0-60 is?

think of them as a japanese equivalent of the renault 5 GT turbo - weigh as much as a packet of peanuts

i did actually copy that bit about the two stage boost (witch is really nothing to braqg about imo, but i supose it sounds good if you dont know what you talking about ?? its often only staged to limit the boost at first, not sure what reasons toyota might have had but the metro turbo uses 4psi boost untill a certain rpm witch i cant actually remeber off of the top of my head then raises the boost to 7psi there after... purley to save the gearbox...

Yup they made them in auto, seen some on autotrader today when I was having a look at them :)

Horrific interiors though, you'd have to gut it.
