How quiet is the d5 on setting 1?

I want something that will be completely inaudible. Was going to passively cool my graphics card with an Arctic s1 plus but feel like doing something a bit more fun. Power supply and cpu will be passively cooled, with some inaudible case fans so worried about the pump noise standing out. I had a ddc before and that had a noticeable buzz.

Also would a single 30mm thick 120 rad be enough to cool a midrange gpu, no cpu in the loop.

Speed 5 on a shoggy, completely silent, I've put my hand on it a few times to make sure it's actually running!

My order has the same pump/res combo as yours scotty, good to hear it's quiet :D. Did you do anything to dampen it at all or did you just mount it directly in the case as is?

As above, virtually silent even at setting 5. On 1 it barely even vibrates.

You might want a thicker radiator depending on the card you intend to cool, but i think it should be ok with a single 120.

No, I just secured it using the 4 screw placements :)(2 either side)

You can just about hear it on 5

All this is a bit weird, I have the same D5 bay res and I can hear mine regardless of what setting it's on. On 5 it's now LOUD loud, but definitely audible even if I'm in bed about 6 feet away. It is the only thing I can hear in the system though. I keep it on 2, having it higher doesn't seem to affect anything on my end anyway.

I've heard from a few that the bay res combo is loud in a hafx. More likely down to the cases construction then the pump its self.

It has a high pitched whirr that is audible above setting 3 for me in a silent room (at night), provided it isn't in a sound-dampened case.

Mines in a fractal R4 on setting 5 and I can't hear it.

It's not vibrating against the case, it is the pump it's self whirring away. It doesn't bother me too much, one thing I would suggest to XSPC is a dial on the front of the bay to turn it up/down so I don't have to open the side of the case every time I want to turn it up/down. :P

That would be pretty difficult for them to do as they don't make the pump.
