How quiet should WD drives be

Hi,
Maybe a silly question,
but my WD 74 raptor is garbling away like a drunk mad man.
Since 97 i have always used Mactor drives and this is 1st time for dif drive.

Are they know for not being quiet.

Raptors are 10,000 rpm drives. They're going to make noise.

wd's are the noisest drives ive ever used along with the old ibms

My system is core 2 duo with scythe ninja 120mm fan operating noise about 12 db along with one 80mm case fan about 12 db also (they are 20db rated fans on very low voltage via zalman fanmate).

The older WD Raptors are noisy, the newer ones are much more silent. IMO WD drives are very reliable and fast - never had one failing on me ...

This drive is not the 10,000RPM one though,the drive im talking about is.
