How does it work that some places you'll get BBC news for your area of the country? Or just different programs?
How isit divided? If your on the border will your neighbour pick up one region and you the next?

As title really!

Lots of questions, these have been bugging me for a while :p

Aerials are usually directed at the local transmitter serving that area. The other transmitter is likely to be in another direction so that the aerial would not pick it up strongly. BBC1 on a transmitter would be transmitted on another frequency in neighbouring ones.

Some aerials are also designed so that they pick up only a select number of frquencies availble for tv that only the area would transmit.

That combination cuts down on the overlaps but yes some areas can pick up two stations.
