How restrictive is your works internet?

A few weird restrictions. I had a block page pop up once for "adult content" on some wikipedia link I'd clicked, which had nothing to do with adult content. I'm always slightly paranoid that it gets logged every time you try to access a blocked site.

I'm wondering if that is what's happening to me on Wiki as well. Wiki:iPad though?!

Fairly unrestricted.
Typical 'banned content' is always blocked and during main office hours so is streaming and twitter, ebay etc.
At lunchtime these are mostly opened up though.
We also try and be fair where there are specific requests or requirements.

My work email seems pretty relaxed... I think? I haven't ever been greeted by a denied message but then again I'm relatively new and junior so I haven't particularly pushed it! I'm pretty sure I could access those Mr Cameron porn stories on the BBC though.

Virgin were pretty lax with Internet access on the VPN. Only obvious stuff like porn and violent content was restricted. Didn't really use it though because the PC only had 128MB of RAM and struggled.

The main site Internet was quite restricted but not as bad as some have listed here. Managed to get around some of it with a proxy but they picked up on it the next day.

We also had a BT Business Broadband line so we could use iTunes to update iPods and iPhones. This meant we could also play online games as well. Fun times.

Oh and before I forget, Speedtest works a charm too! 80Mbit. Shame it's all wasted on Internet Exploder 7 running on a P2.8HT - 2003 spec!

That's not fast... ;)

And unrestricted. Previous workplace used Fortinet; everything reasonable accessible, but some adult content and malware warnings from time to time.

We got youtube a few months ago :)

Can't get to anything that would let data leave the company, so no email, blog, most social networking (apart from LinkedIn) most forums, most shopping, no gambling or porn, some news and that's about it.

One of my previous employers Internet was tighter than a ducks butt, but always ways around that. Still questions me to this day.

Ours is totally unrestricted.
Ours too, always thought it should be restricted though, maybe in the future as the 74,000 employees continue to brows Facebook/Youtube/etc more than they work, a forced proxy has been needed for some time.

Work for an ISP and it's unrestricted. It is monitored though so anything slightly dodgy I would be pulled to one side rather quickly

Not sure actually. As I've never searched for naughty things at work nor have any social media accounts, I've not stumbled into anything that was blocked. I'll check tomorrow
