I am considering Oc'ing my Q6600 to 2.7 - 3.0 , but i am very cautious about it.

I don't want to bugger my chip up after only getting it!

I can easily get the CPU to 2.7, 300 x 9 and its there.

3.0 is a walk in the park.

keep temps below 75... you shouldn't get anywhere near that when only going to 3.0 though.

Think the op's using a p5q. for 3.0ghz on my p5q deluxe my settings are like this.

cpu multiplier x9

FSB 333

FSB-NB STRAP-333

Voltages.

cpu voltage 1.2750 (vid of my cpu)

cpu gtl v pref (0/2) auto

cpu gtl v pref (1/3) auto

cpu PLL V 1.52

fsb termination 1.22

dram 2.02

nb v 1.12

nb gtl reference auto

sb voltage 1.20

pcie sata voltage 1.60

memory running @4,4,4,12. 2.02v (2.1v true) due to board overvolting

All voltages +0.2 above auto as the board overvolts the same as auto with the lowest manual setting.
