Ive been considering water cooling for a little while now but im a bit worried putting my Pc near water. I don't want to be put of by it but i may need a bit of convincing. so how safe is it? whats the risk of it leaking and how often do they leak?

thanks ryan

It's very safe as long as you tighten everything properly and test it outside the system first.

just remember to leak test it for 24 hours, and also if you use special coolant or distilled water the conductivity is very low so shouldn't short out your system.

if you keep an eye on it if you are worried at first - i did - but hey after a while i just let it get on with it and it was fine.

yeah i see. whats the best and most safe kit to go for? And a bit of the topic quistion but on Water what do you think i could get my 3500+ venice upto?

Thanks Ryan

I didn't bother leak testing, and thus had a very slow leak from the cpu block down onto the graphics. Nothing bad happened thank God. I don't think the water does a lot until things get really wet.

It's totally safe.

Swiftech Apex kit. The only kit I would buy tbh (I have it :) )

Not much further than on air, as temps probably aren't too bad?

watercooling is fun. You learn what connects to what, watch the water go round with trepadation. Monitor temps, have a leak. then the cooling bursts :p It's what you make of it.

The risk is entirely dependent on how much care you take when setting it up, testing checking everything is tight etc.

Personally I have never had anything leak. If you test it outside of the system for 24 hours+ then you should have no problems, it's probably once you've been doing it for a while and get lazy that you may go wrong. I can never be bothered to test outside my case anymore when I do anything so I'm probably just lucky!

But really, as long as you take your time, understand what you are going to be doing and check everything a couple of times then you should have no problems.

watercooling is relatively safe if you do it right and follow all the usual precautions.

of course you can still get unfortunate events like with anything.
