how secure is this wireless router

Have I mide my wireless secure enough to stop other ppl getting onto my network?

Also I cant get the signal to reach into the sitting room, from my bedroom thats also downstairs. Basically it has to travel about 15meters and through 3 walls. Would my prob be sorted if i upgraded the the antenna on the d-link router for a "high gain antenna"???

Thats the best idea , No other solution if you cant move the router closer... ?

Just been seeing how far the laptop will work from the routr, and its quite strange,, I can get about 10-13 meters away, and the signal strength and line quality is still in the high 60s%. But then if I go any further away then that, it just looses connection.

So whats causing that? is it cos its a old p500 laptop and theres not enough power going through the PCMCIA card. Cos im guess the router signal is still more then fine if its in the high 60s% or is it telling me porkies?

My sis has a new laptop so when she comes over, I will test it out with her laptop
