I just looked in my system information and it says this:

Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 7 GenuineIntel ~2666 Mhz

How much faster would a mid range dual core processor be, compared to my current setup? Just want a very rough idea.

I presume there are currently very few programs configured for optimal use with dual core, yes? In which case, I will only double the speed of my existing processor?

Can I use a dual core CPU on my existing motherboard, given my existing processor?
