How soon is too soon?

I was with a girl on and off for about a year. She said it to me when we were alone, I ended it with her. Best decision of my life.
 
asked my wife to marry me on day 8:eek: and still with her:eek: (icons added to offset all the bad relationship/failed relationship/'strange' relationship threads:D)
 
He told me he loved me after a week. We've been together 2 and a half years and we still tell each other every day :)
 
mine was telling me it after a month all the time, it took me another few to say it back to her.

Best reply to 'I love you'

Say it when it feels right. I don't understand people who are in relationships with someone they don't love. Of course, I don't agree with people who say it when they don't mean it, as some guys I know have done :p.

I agree.

a lot of people I know are in relationships because of habit. Too insecure to be single and just stay with the person out of habit.

The word "Love" is used to frequently I think..
 
Girls normally say they love me after a couple of times of sleeping together! Otherwise I wouldn't say anything for a month or so at least.

You're probably right there. My first boyfriend said it to me shortly after we got together, we were 12 at the time. My most recent ex (aged 17) said it before we got together. It's a nice thing to hear though, especially when you're younger and don't really understand what it means.

I think only now at the wise old age of 29 do I really know what Love means and what its about.

Someone told me they loved me recently and inside I was just laughing because I knew it was out of desperation to stop me ending the thing we had going.

People need to respect the word "Love" a lot more.
 
I don't think you plan to say it to be honest, the last time I said it I guess it was 3 months or so into the relationship. I remember we were just walking back to her house being silly and I blurted it out completely without thinking about it. I think I started talking about something random to change the subject :D

I wouldn't really say it's out of habit. But I'm not sure how to explain it either :confused: . I think if it was habit it wouldn't mean as much and it still always feels like the first time he said it.
I'm never expecting him to say it so it's always kind of out of the blue :) .
