Anybody accidentally break your touch or sensors from drops?

I have a hardwood floor, and because of the room scale and tethered nature of all the items I have already dropped the sensor from about 1.5m 3 or four times(cable trip). Bashed my controller on the wall in vr around 3 or 4 times and this is just day 3!

Also some of my friends who play the VR is just way to vigourous with their motions and when they hit something beyond the chaperone they hit hard. The paint on the edge of the touch controller is already chipped..

I don't think anything is broken yet, buy due to the cost factor I'm getting a little concerned over the long term sturdiness of the sensors and controllers (headset has never been dropped or manhandled). Anybody who have had theirs for a while, could you give me some anecdotal assurance of sturdiness?

Id hate to cover all the floor of my playspace with rugs and pillows.

(space is approx 2.5m X 2.5m with a playspace of 1.8m by 1.8 to reduce likelyhood of contact.)

Impressed you have managed to drop sensors!

Try an eraser, I've got a load of white marks that look like paint scuffs but they just erase off. Maybe yours are actual chips though...

Mine have been dropped a few times and I've hit several things while playing echo arena. I've heard they're very sturdy, and more so than the vive ones, but that's only second hand info really.

I have only had mine for a few days now but I have already let one fly out of my hand whilst swinging my drive in Golf Club VR, it hit the ceiling then fell to the floor.

I then whilst hitting a forehand smash in Eleven: Table Tennis VR I just missed my TV and hit the wall which left a small dent in the plasterboard.

I am wanting to get another sensor but will try to get the package with the touch controllers because at this rate they surely can't keep taking the hits lol.

those dangly bits attached to the bottom of the controller have a name... Something about what you're suppose to do with them... I can't quite think what it is though...

Nobody uses the Guardian system or the wrist restraints (lanyards) to stop the controllers flying off then...

Must love the idea of more spending on replacement equipment and DIY repairs lol ... it is easy to get carried away though, what a laugh!

First night I had the Oculus I had my mum try it. She tried the "First Contact" demo and I asked her to try grabbing a can from the desk and chucking it across the room - She then chucked the touch controller across the room narrowly missing my monitor and hitting the wall at full pelt :p

No damage to the controller or the monitor fortunately! The moral of this story... Use the lanyards! :p

LOL

Got my rift this week. Nearly put a hole in the wall playing Super Hot VR twice when I tried to punch an enemy. Left large marks on the wall. The touch controller seems absolutely fine.
