I've recently also found it works excellently in porridge. All those little segments separate and create a wonderful blend

I love grapefruit! Wonderful stuff. Try pink grapefruit if the normal type is too sour for you.

they are challenging for purchasing avoiding too thick skins,
and, the most challenging for peeling, and segregating(sic) ... usually prep them them for breakfast on previous days, and fridge them
serrated knives no good for removing pith, I'd like a more appropriate veg knife.

Pink grapefruit is lovely once you've peeled all the skin off the segments but it does mean it's too much of a pain in the bum for me to bother with very often.
