How does a;

Graphics Card

Motherboard

Ram and

CPU work?

I'm interested to know how these components work so that I better understand them and a computer as a whole.
Does anyone know any useful links that will explain this to me in laymen’s terms.

Thanks ‘-‘

Would it be rude of me to suggest trying google? all the information you could possibily want would/could be on wikipedia : ) However I don't know really how they work from a technical standpoint other then the graphics card helps things look pretty and also helps those pretty things run quickly and the CPU helps your computer run faster as a whole and ram is like a desk. More ram is like having a bigger desk, you can get to things quickly and easily without having to look around for something for a while.

lAt work right now, what I will do for you when I get home is scower the net for some easy to understand information, gives me an excuse to use my new macbook air : P

I have tried but they all the pages i found use words I dont understand LOL

and that would be great thanks :)

To use the human body analogy:

CPU = BRAIN (computes the tasks you ask a computer to do in real time)

MOTHERBOARD = NERVOUS SYSTEM (allows all components to communicate with each other )

GRAPHICS CARD = EYES PERHAPS (computes all visual image data to output to display what you see)

RAM = HANDS (holds data that you are currently using...i.e. whilst playing a game or surfing the web etc)

HARD DISK = MEMORY (holds all data that you have input / installed onto a computer)

Awesome thanks, So I'm guessing if your using more than 4gb worth of stuff at 1 point and you have 4gb ram that the PC drops some of that info??
