Guys...
Its silly but am losing it...I have 2015 c-class on rental and for the love of God can't switch rear windscreen wipers on....manual that came with the car is in Dutch...
If anyone knows please advise...
I bet its something silly...
If there is a difference, its automatic
Thanks !!!

^^ What they said, when I first got my old company car (a BMW 3 series) I took about 10 mins of looking round trying to find the controls, got out and noticed I didn't have one :D

Unfortunately saloons aren't designed to be driven in the rain. In the case of rain, you should really be driving a hatchback which does have a rear window wiper.

So it is sponge time after rainy day...great...
How stupid....

There's hundreds of thousands of cars like this and it's not really a problem because of the angle of the window. If it really does bother you that much go and get some rain x / generic rain repellent and apply it to the rear window.

Wow. Best thread of the day award.

You don't need a rear wiper on a saloon, most of the time I needed a rear wiper on a hatchback was due to road spray coming up the back of the car onto the window. This doesn't happen on a saloon.

Yes, i have jest noticed that it doesnt have one, so how does it operate in the rain?

What?

It doesn't have one... how does it operate in the rain

Neither of my mazda 6 had a rear wiper and never had any issues.

Other than when I first bought the car and was so annoyed I coudlnt find the size of the wiper blades I needed haha

As above slap some nanocoat or rainX on it and be done

As a thermofluids engineer I feel compelled to describe why the rear window doesn't need a wiper...

There is a simple reason that the boot prevents road spray on the rear window.

A more exotic answer is that reversed flow due to the adverse pressure gradients causes the water to sheer off the window. Very much analogous to flows in sudden expansion ducts.

In reality the true answer is a combination of two.

Wow I actually learnt something! Thanks for using big words :D
