I have just got my hands on a 2nd HD 7950, and was wondering how is the best way to go about adding it to my rig. I have had a Google and there are so many people with there own way of doing things, as in some say remove drivers and start from scratch, others say just install as normal, and configure in CCC. So I thought I would start here, how do you all recommend to go about it ?

Uninstall the AMD drivers.
Shut down PC.
Install new card + attach crossfire bridge.
Start PC.
Install newest AMD drivers.

This way you minimize the risk of screwed registry entries.

Switch off PC, plug it all in. Switch on PC. It will be detected and CCC will come up and ask if you want to enable crossfire. It really should be that simple.

Or in my case just enables Cf anyway :D
^ What tribz said, the card will install the drives automatically might have to restart afterwards. It's plug and play really though.

Cheers guys. I will try the plug and play option first, and if there are any problems, I'll remove drivers and do a sweep.

CF is normally automatically enabled as long as everything goes right, however if it is not i have never seen a pop-up asking me if i want to enable CF without first going into the AMD CrosssfireX tab.

Right after a big pain in the arse it is in. I had to remove 1 run of hose in the loop, for the card to fit, and I had to remove the shroud, as my res and 1st card just touch, and with the shroud being slightly larger, there was no way it would go. If anything the cooling will be slightly better than the stock shroud on the MSI HD 7950, plus it will give more of an incentive to by my block sooner rather than later.

After the messing about it is all up and running, I went with the plug and play option and all is well. Time to have some fun.
