How to add folders outside of your onedrive library to your cloud storage

I figured I'd add this to the pile, as I've seen a few people asking around on various forums. I'd also suggest you having an empty folder to junction initially, and then dump items into it to force onedrive to synch up. I'm going to, in my case use my comics folder as an example, but you should replace my directions to applicable drives and folders for you.

OK. So my comics folder is on my D drive; Onedrive is obviously on my C drive. I could *move* my onedrive, but this can actually cause an issue or two in itself. So. How do I get my comics into my onedrive? Firstly, you need to open a command prompt; for those unaware of how to do this, you do the following:

Windows 7: in your run dialogue, type cmd - right click on CMD and run as administrator

Windows 8.1 (assuming you don't use a start menu), open your charm, type cmd, run as an administrator.

When you're here, you need to type in one string:

mlink /J "C:\users\<eldergeek\onedrive\<folder>" "D:\<folder>"

Now...In my case, obviously <folder> would require me to enter the folder name of "comics", and pointed between the relative drives - the command will make the folders, and what appears to be a shortcut link in your onedrive, but as you add your files to the D drive, you'll find that it also syncs into your onedrive.

**NOTE** - If you reformat, you may want to re-establish this link before allowing onedrive to sync again.
