How To Apply?

I'll be receiving my components on Monday and would like some more information about the Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure Edition CPU Cooler,

1. How do I apply the thermal paste? Spread it all out or put all into the middle?

2. Which way I put the 120mm fan?

3. When I put the CPU cooler down to the CPU, how do I know it's the right way?

1. Pea sized blob, some put it in middle but i prefer to spread, use credit card or similar
2. Should be arrow on it for direction of airflow, so point into heatsink
3. With mine i put cooler on facing a case exhaust fan so airflow goes in same direction

Edit some coolers come with preinstalled paste.

Pea sized blob and let the cooler press it down

spreading with a credit card can cause little air pockets etc so best to avoid doing it that way.

I'm stuck with which way to apply thermal paste, either by spreading it or put all into middle

Put all in the middle... best way and suggested by almost all brands of TIM.

If in doubt practice on some glass/clear plastic. You'll see it spreads nicely

How much do I put into the middle? I put a blob or a line?

A rice grain size. Any bigger and it will be too much, and can negatively affect temps.
