You know, that thing that happens around 2pm, kills productivity and makes you wish a lovely comfy bed just appears in the office for you to flop on.

It's bloody annoying and I can't quite figure out what to do to avoid it.

Any change to meals, or certain things to eat to avoid this?

Could be a pre-diabetes symptom IIRC if you get it frequently and more than mild to moderately (depending on type can be prevented at that stage via diet changes).

Otherwise I'd make sure you are getting sufficient hydration. How and when you are consuming sugars and carbs will have an impact as well but beyond simple forum pointers.

Hmm interesting, certainly something I may have to discuss with a doctor, I'd have thought if it was that it would have effects on exercise? And I frequently do 30-40 mile bike rides at a good pace.

What are you eating and drinking?

I miss breakfast sometimes, tend to have 2 or 3 coffees a day from Pret. When I do eat, bowl of cornflakes for breakfast, ham sarnie at dinner.

Some useful info, and lol the dinner argument. DINNER is at DINNER TIME, which is about 12 noon. No debate :p

Giving up coffee :o oh lord, is this essential, coffee is love :'( It would save some money like.

Cut the simple carbs. Do intermittent fasting by consuming only a relatively small number of calories in fat at breakfast (double cream in decaff coffee), with your proper eating window 1400-1800. Energy lulls begone.

So decaf coffee with double cream in the morning nothing until a nice big sarnie at 2pm?

Can I have more than 1 decaf coffee and enjoy all that double cream? :D

Come to think of it, the afternoon crashes are mainly at work when sat down.

Some days in the past I've been energetic, done 30 odd mile bike rides all on a mocha with full fat milk from the bike shop and not felt the need to sleep despite having no food untill 2-3pm.

But I could not replicate the above at work as I start getting really hungry and heart burn by 11, weird how I don't when I'm up and about.
