Is it possible? Is there a lot of hassle involved?

Basically, i get these seriously annoying silent calls, sometimes there is an Indian on the other end trying to sell me a garage door for my kitchen or whatever and it just annoys the hell out of me.

When i get emails about 'inserting viagra down my japs eye to make it grow two inches in 30 seconds' i can hit the spam button and i won't get another email like it. How can i combat this on the phone?

This is my mobile i'm talking about btw, on O2. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience blocking numbers.

Answer the phone and just talk to them calmly in a really bad Indian accent and when they ask you to repeat things say "Can't you bladdy speak the English!!"

I always liked the idea of asking for their personal number, they say "no why do you want it?", then you say "so i can phone you", they say "i don't want you to phone me", then you say " now you know how i feel". Then you can spend the next 5 or 10 minutes feeling smug :p

It's more the silent calls i'm annoyed about.

As far as I'm aware, O2 don't offer any service themselves to block numbers - I remember looking in to it a while ago when someone wasn't taking a hint to leave me alone, and they just suggested changing my own number. As pointed out though, there are ways to do it on your handset, either with an app as above or built in on some phones.
