how to block torrents!

how old is she?

open file sharing on her laptop and delete everything once it gets downloaded and tell her that windows knows its illegal and auto deletes it... might work for a while? or atleast put her off.

seccond thought, if you can get onto her laptop, set the port numbers different to your torrent program and block hers?

I'd be pretty peeved if I had my torrent access taken away at 14, however I understand how annoying it is to have slowed down Internet access because of someone using p2p in the home. 2 sides to this story and not sure which one I'd pick.

Get her hooked on using rapidshare perhaps, i've got an account which i use mainly for archiving my dad's photo collection(10's of gbs) and i've seen the potential for explotation in the warez scene, the upside to making her direct download if she must do what a teenagers gotta do, is that the files will use less http connections than torrenting, and you could request she not do it during certain hours and she'd be a lot less peeved off...

Or a newsgroups sub, cheaper, no limits, and you could put qos on the router and limit her speed.

Well if monster is a tea tottler who never downloads illegally on his network then he can dam well expect that of his siblings / parentals / friends ... being a hypocrit is a bit more lame, but i support limiting access to defend ones principles

If you pay for the broadband, change the Wireless encryption, and demand cash moneys from her each month for a the new code. Then let her download what she wants, and when the feds come, point the finger
