How To Build A Bomb: Episode 7

Why?

Him and the few others that left/got sacked were the only reason gamespots video content was any good

He looks/act like a moron in that video. 'Wacky' humour like that isn't really for me.

And Gamespot's videos weren't ever that good. I much prefer the style of GameTrailer reviews.

I'm a bit of a fan of Gerstmann, he is very much pro 360 and anti ps3, but if you can overlook that he does do very unbiased reviews of games, if a game sucks he will say it, simple as.

The full team is now not only Jeff Gerstmann and Ryan Davis, but also Brad Shoemaker and Vinny Caravella, looks set to be a great site when it finally launches for real.

I have enjoyed watching all three's coverage of E3 this year. IGN was a bit wooden but professional (technically), GameSpot was lively and down-to-earth but unprofessional (technically) and it was just nice to see Jeff, Ryan and Co. doing their own take on things in a more personal way.

If they run a subscription-based model for Giant Bomb (and I see no reason why they won't - how on earth are they making any money otherwise), I shall probably sign up.

They'll be making money from ads on the site. Site should be up tomorrow.

I never noticed any ads. Unless I've become so used to seeing them and they don't register in my brain anymore.

They never had any ads as the site they had was just a temp wordpress blog until the full site is launched.

Same, I've been following Giant Bomb for some time (enjoyed their E3 coverage) and look forward to joining the site.

I'm not sure he's anti PS3 per se; he loved MGS IV and spoke very highly of Sony throughout E3; I can see though that as he does highly rate the 360 and thinks it offers slighly more that would make him a fanboy in your eyes though. PS3>360 or fanboy? ;)

I've never felt any of the GiantBomb.com staff have shown any fanboyism in their reviews or podcasts. They're just telling it how it is, that doesn't make you a fanboy. People seem to think if you say anything negative or positive about a system it makes you a fanboy.

Jeff in his giantbomb guise is defiantly less of a fanboy than he was in his gamespot days TBH, but you never know how much "playing to an audience" is done on podcasts though.

It could be the fact Jeff is so obsessed with his Gamerscore. I think he is at 70k now or something crazy. lol He used to make 2 hour long videos talking about his gamer score back in the gamespot days. :D

Loved their E3 coverage, listened to it yesterday while in the local Tesco was cracking me up.

Long may it continue :)
