How to burn to HDD from DVD

I used my dvd player/recorder to burn a program from off the telly.
I would like to put the program onto my HDD so i can delete and re-use the +RW disc, but watch the program when i get the time.

Any idea's? Any good software (free)....I'm a bit lost.

Rip/Copy (using DVD Decrypter) the DVD Video Files (vobs etc) to your HDD and then use AutoGK to encode to xvid for smaller file size.
