take the fan red wire to the yellow and take the fan black to the red
oh, and don't get it backwards or use anything more than a fan and use a feed with another device connected, should help with any current feeding back into the psu.
12volt + 5 volt = 7 volt just plug them into the 12v and 5v and you get 7v sounds dumb i know but thats how it works
if its a molex fan its easy and safe, take the mins out of the molex on the psu side and swop them round so that they are aligned with the two pins on the fan molex but make sure you dont pulg anything else onto that molex thats had its pins swopped around unless its more fans you want at 7v but using molex's that come before the modded one are fine to use
How is it dumb? Overall voltage will always be the difference between the positive and negative supply rails, so 12v - 0v = 12v, 12v - 5v = 7v, 12v - 3.3v = 8.7v, etc. Just make sure that the rails you are using have enough current carrying ability. 5V and 3.3V rails are normally weak compared to the 12V rails.
