I've just had to re-install XP on my system (due to a virus killing the HDD) and when I boot up Explorer is showing my HDD as the I:\ Drive!... not C:\ as it should be!...

My DVD's and Card reader (internal) were all over the place too!... but I've been able to re-assign them!...

My question is this!... How do I re-assign my Main HDD to the C:\ drive (which is unused!!)...

Cheers
Sim :)

You can't change the OS drive letter without formatting the computer. The OS drive letter is set when you install the OS.

LOL - The way to do it:
Unplug all other drives except your OS drive...
Reformat the first partition.
Re-install OS.
And then it might be C. :p

Or just live with it.
I've had XP on C, D, E, H, G etc in the past... Makes no difference to the OS. :)

yeh, to get it to be C you need to make sure the only drive thats in the pc is the one ** installing xp from.

Bum!...

Means I've got to get back into it!... and I've just nicely routed all the external wiring so its not a birds nest!...

Oh well I think I can live with it for now!... Till next install!.. :)

If you knwo any one who has Citrix Presentation Server 4.0, there is a handy drive remapping utility on the CD :)

email in trust! :)
