How to change Post/ Bios screen resolution

Im currently connected through HDMI through the GPU and when ever I want to go into BIOS, its only displaying the middle part of the screen (imagine putting a 22" cutout in the middle of a 40" screen).

I never had this issue on either of my 32" TV's (one was 720p, the other is a new 1080p samsung). My current monitor/ TV is a 22" Bush 1080p LED TV.

If I connect through VGA to another screen, it works fine (only have VGA cables integrated to other screens, so cant try VGA to my current screen).

Is there anyway I can change the resolution so I can enter BIOS through HDMI?


Also, through HDMI, I have the Vista "Loading Bar" instead of the 7 splash screen. Through DVi or VGA, I have the 7 splash screen.
Any ideas?

The BIOS screen runs at 640x480 I think, because that was the max resolution of screens back when it was designed. The reason it can't be increased, is that would require graphics drivers to be implemented to get the GPU to scale it. This won't happen.

The reason some of your old screens did it, and when using VGA they did it is down to the scaler chip in the screen. Some monitors can only scale VGA signals, and some can't do it at all. Nothing you can do about it.

This I don't understand. There should be no reason why a different connector should change the displayed image, unless for some reason Windows has already implemented dual screen, but not clone display.

Would like some info myself on this.

Only just realised on my htpc using hdmi, i also get the loading bar.

On my main pc using dvi i get the 7 splash screen.

Both have W7 HP (retail).
