How to change screen res in bf1942-vietnam ect

Hi peeps, I have re-installed bf1942 and all the add ons, I have a nice new 19" tft now which like to be set at 1280x 1024.
How can I change the res in this game, it would appear not to be in the standard vid settings.
I used to do this but cannot recall how.
Can you help me please.

I think there may be a command you need to add to the exe, via the shortcut, something like "bf1942.exe -x1280 -y1024" although not sure if that is the correct command.
