Well I accidently clicked on auto adjust on my monitor and then there is a black line on top of my monitor, I tried to change the vertical settings but it doesn't work. Any other ways?

Don't use VGA for a connection.

How thick is this black line?

Are you sure it isn't just the thin line you get between the image and the bezel on most monitors?

So the image has been moved down leaving a gap at the top and chopping off the task bar at the bottom?

Are you sure you're running at the correct resolution/refresh rate?

I assume you've tried auto adjust again?

There's normally 2 vertical correction values you can adjust on the monitor. One of them moves the whole picture up and down, and the other squishes or stretches it to make the display taller or shorter.

Have another fiddle with the monitor controls.

Worst comes to worst, you'll have to look in the manual and see if you can restore it to factory settings.

I have reset it to factory settings, I have played around with the settings :(
E: It goes up about 1 mm from 50 to 100

The buttons on the actual monitor should be able to solve this, no? just jiggle it up a bit. If you clicked auto adjust then its not a hardware problem and just needs moving back.
