without using any program like uxtheme or windowblinds etc how can i change the color of the box from blue to black, its just how i want it when i use aero but with my graphics card i keep getting bsods and errors and when i searched it was having aero enabled with the ati 4850's, so i have to have it on windows basic.

thats all fine with aero enabled, but as i keep getting bsod's and errors with my graphics card and aero enabled i cant do as you suggested.

so i used to have an old nvidia 7600 but upgraded to ati 4850, with the nvidia i used to have transparency disabled and everything was ok, when the new card was put in i had transparency disabled and still got errors, so after researching i found that lots all said it was the 48**'s and theres nothing to sort it aprt from disable aero.

i have tried to play with advanced setting within basic but cant change the color.

AFAIK, you cannot change the Vista Basic colour scheme.

Unless you either
A) Enable Vista Aero, and remove the transparency
or
B) Use the Neowin fix to allow use of user themes.
