Hi
my system has always used CoreAVC codec to play my hi-def videos. But now ive installed powerdvd, it uses powerdvd codec to play the movies even though im not using the powerdvd program. im using media player classic.

How do i change which codec the system uses for my hi-def movies?

thanks

In the advanced options for Media Player Classic there are codec/format settings. Have a look there.

Thanks, got it working now!
In options under external filters i just add the CoreAVC filter and tick prefer.

You can download a very handy little program,

"Microsoft Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility"

Lol shame the name is so long. :)

Anywho, that shows all the codecs installed and which is set to default, and it lets you change the one set to default. Very good. :)
