How to check ESXI datastore disk on OSX

I think my datastore SSD just died so I want to check on my Mac. I plugged it in and can see in it Disk Utility, but cannot mount it.

I tried cloning it to a new SSD but Aweclone and Carbon Copy Cloner don't recognise the drive.

How do I run some sort of bad sector checker on it?

You can do:

esxcli storage core device smart get -d device

This will get the SMART information and tell you some information.
