hi again

thanks firebarUK

i have NTFS-3g support and can read and write to my vista partition fine

its just i have 2 old winXP drives as storage devices and i can't access them because they are read only

i don't seem to have any GUI option to get rid of the read only hence wondering what the terminal command might be

hmmmm - unless of course the NTFS-3g can't see my 2 other drives because i put them in after installin it? gettin out of my depth here :(

any suggestions welcome
many thanks

Hey guys thanks, that's a useful tip.

NTFS-3G is preinstalled with the new Ubuntu 7.10 but the gui config for it: ntfsconfig needs to be installed from synaptic. Then found under system tools in the main menu.

sorted it :)

there is a ntfs-config tool that detected these additional drives when i opened it - so all seems ok

cheers guys
