How to clean a monitor?

What do you guys use to clean your monitor? I have small marks over my monitor and don't know what the best way to clean them off would be.

Are the solutions that you can buy online worth getting?

A damp microfibre cloth is all that ever goes near mine.

Yeah that is all you should need to use. For any older / hardened spots, just leave the damp (not dripping) cloth over it long enough to soften up the goo a bit. Preferably keep a cloth nearby and use it dry whenever necessary to keep it in good nic from there on.
