How to clean off old thermal paste?

I use a acetone based nail varnish remover but most the paste if not all will come off with a dry cloth i have found, just make sure not to touch the plates with your fingers or it will fry off the oil from ur skin.

Kitchen roll, cotton buds and acetone/white spirit/alcohol/lighter fluid - whichever I have to hand.

I just used kitchen roll

Though there was almost no paste on the CPU or cooler :/

As already mentioned Vodka plus kitchen roll does just fine

I do this but only in emergencies.

White Spirit is about £2/ltr... vodka... £20! Although it does give you an excuse to have one I guess.

I used my house mates £50 bottle of vodka to clean mine once, just before he dropped and smashed it on the floor lol
