Hmmm sorry for the poor title wasnt sure how to put this...

OK Ive just come back from holiday and in charge of getting all the photos/videos (all from normal digi cameras and some off an iphone) collated and perhaps get a decent slideshow sorted (oh how I wish I had a MBP atm)...

1) So the first thing I need to do is get all the photos and videos together - what would be the best way to do this considering Ive got friends all over the globe that need to upload their pics and stuff? I need them completely raw so I can edit them adequately and need it to be private so only they have access to it (prefer not to have delete abilities, just upload and view). I want this to be as easy as possible for them...

2) Then I need a decent program to allow me to touch up/resize the photos - most probably will suffer from poor focus and red eye - not looking to shopped them into masterpieces, just make them presentable as quickly as possible. I would need a similar editing program for the videos - just cutting them up and getting rid of dead time.

3) Then I need to assemble these into a cracking slideshow where I can have fades/music and have the photos/videos intercut etc. I need it to be relatively easy to use, with timelines to show where everything goes and the timings...

Be great to know what programs fit the bill perfectly (either for 1 or all the tasks above) and if anyones got examples of decent slideshows so I can get some inspiration what I could do with this...

Really want to turn this around in a weekend if possible but I guess the photo/vid editing will take a lot of time (expecting 1500+ pics/vids) and then putting them into a slideshow too....

TIA

What tasks would they cover? I assume 3) but would they do 2)? Really need help with 1) as its all logistics...

And yes Premiere is way too much for this - I dont have access to that (home/work) at all :(

Anyone else with suggestions?

Ive got access to Photoshop at work so can edit the photos using that and have suggestions above regards videos and making the actual slideshow properly.

What I really need help to understand is how I get these things onto my PC easily when people are all over the country and abroad. FTP site or something?

You could use Picasa to touch-up and resize you photos before adding them into a slideshow on PowerDirector. It is really easy to use, plenty of features, and free.

Excellent idea - Ive got that installed as part of Google Apps but never used it...

Im thinking I might have to create another thread for the first item under the Network forum to get better results - its the one that I havent got any experience with what-so-ever and doing something over MSN etc just isnt doable considering the number of files...
