How to collect videos from multiple people

Hi all

Title not great, so let me explain.

There is a group of parents at school and they want to be able to share videos with the teacher that they have filmed of their children with their smart phones etc at various events (concerts etc) , as the teacher intends to cut them together/make a DVD video of the kids. This is all OK.

So I need to know the best way to allow people to somehow upload the videos in such a way that they are private (other parents able to view is not needed but OK)

You might think, "just upload to youtube and share the (unlisted) link" but some people may not be keen on uploading to youtube, and not everyone has a youtube account etc. Also this means the teacher has to go about collecting from each account.

What I imagine would work would be something like a 'private' 'shared' youtube account that allows uploads from multiple people? Is there any site that does this?

Some things I looked at seemed more family orientated and tended towards one [family member] sharing with many [family members] I could do with something that works opposite i.e. many people sharing with one user IYSWIM.

Also thought about maybe a private facebook group, but not sure everyone does facebook, AND not sure that facebook does video ? (i don't facebook)

Any ideas ?

OK, so does the account get created and password shared about or does Dropbox do a 'public' of sorts drop box? Like a blind drop box. (like old school ftp setups ...)
 
You can create an account in the Dropbox account and share the link. You need to ensure that people using the link have permission to add content though as I think the default may be for anonymous users to view only.

I think Dropbox would be a good solution if you are talking large files.

On a much smaller scale you could use Whatsapp.
 
Thanks, I'll see about drop box, sounds great if can be done from phone. We transfer also looks quite slick too. Any other suggestions ?
