You could download benchmarks like cinebench R20 and pc Mark and compare their scores.
Or you could just post the specs of the laptops here and we can help.
Thanks for your reply. Sorry it's taken me a couple days to get back.
First laptop is an Acer Aspire ES1-311. It's specs are;
Intel Celeron N2840 2.16GHz CPU
4GB DDR3 RAM
Intel HD Graphics
I've installed a 120GB SSD which I'm running Windows 10 off of at the minute. Was thinking of areplacing the 4GB module with an 8GB and possibly upgrading the SSD to a larger size.
The second laptop is a Packard Bell EasyNote TE11BZ. It's specs are;
AMD E-300 APU with Raedon Graphics 1300MHz
6GB DDR3 RAM (2GB in one slot and 4GB in the other according to CPU-Z)
500GB HDD Running Windows 8.
If we were to keep this I would upgrade the RAM to 16GB and either take out the SSD from the ACER or grab a new one and fresh install Windows 10 onto it.
The missus is going to look into a new laptop at the end of the year. We don't really see anything that we find good value for money at our modest budget of around £600-£700 at the moment. So these upgrades and running one of these machines may be ok for the next few months.
