Guys,

I thought I'd try out a trial of Nero 10 and MediaHome 4 to see if they were any good and worth moving over to from the various Burners/Media streamers I'm trialing..

Anyhew... I found the simple answer was NO!. They're bloated, slow and put some random crap on my system that was just a little annoying!!..

So I uninstalled using the Nero Uninstaller program utility found on their website (I know Nero is notorious for leaving floaters... but I thought It might have been solved on v10)..

According to the tool it was successful at cleaning Nero off my system!!..

But every time I 'Right Click' a 'advrcntr5.dll Missing' error... I know its missing!... It's been uninstalled and so have all the Nero programs that need it (so I thought!).

The only answers I can find out on the Web are for re-installing the .dll to get Nero working!!

Anyone know how to solve this very Annoying problem!?.. don't want to re-install Nero and try again!.. I just want it GONE!!

Thanks,
Sim. :(

Search the Registry for advrcntr5.dll and delete any instances of it?

Failing that, system restore to before you installed Nero.

Did a find on the Regestry and nowt in there?!?! :(

*Edit* Ooop Scratch that, Found 3 Nero entries (by searching for advrcntr) in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDLLs.

Deleted them all and now it don't throw up that error anymore!!..

*Note to Ones Self* "Do Not EVER install any Nero Product!!

i always use Revo uninstaller, after it uninstalls the program, it does a full registry scan for leftovers, you just tick the Bold entries and delete them.

I ditched Nero quite some time ago as it was becoming so bloated. Give Ashampoo Burning Studio 10 a try.

Yep, Got Ashampoo and the Free 'Full' program that was given away about a year ago!! :)

It was mainly for NeroMediahome as I was having problems with Tversity DLNA to my TV... gone back to Tversity now (I've tried loads of other DLNA programs) it's not perfect, but it works! (ish) :)
