How to compress AVI?

I've just taken a 30min video off a video camera and it's come out as an AVI file at 15gb!

Is there some software that can make the file size smaller?

AVI is just a container, you'll have to use compression software to shrink it down. You've probably got windows moviemaker installed which you could try playing with

 

[bledd]

install xvid koepi
install virtualdub
install lame acm

open in virtualdub
set audio compression to mp3 192kbs 48000
set video compression to xvid 1200kbs
press F7
